Happy flappy again
- After two weeks of not being able to dive because of a very bad sinusitis, I’ve been able to rejoin my fish again in my usual playground which is at Coin de Mire just in front of the dive school…
Still a little drugged because of the strong medicine I had to take it felt really good to be back !
The water was clear and my little friend the octopus was happy to play again and even got a grip with his sticky arms on my regulator.
Although I was really glad he wanted to be that close with me , I had a hard time to get him unplugged.
The sea is really wild at the moment with some waves of 5 to 6 meters with a strong wind but that’s part of the adventure .The high season starts slowly , we will have some more exciting dives to do … I even heard the whales are not far …

Championnat du Monde de la Photographie sous Marine
An experience not to forget that quickly ...
The Championship has been really great, of course with some stress and struggle ones a while, but on the other side a lot of sharing and positive emotions..
It's incredible to meet all those photographers and assistants from different countries and cultures.
There has been a lot of sharing and exchanging addresses with promises to keep in touch!
Gérald has been classified on the ninth place at the worlds best CMAS photographers list ... I am really proud of him !!
He did such a good job ...and is a talented photographer with a great perspective to progress even more for sure ..
Silence is back and agitation is all behind and it feels quiet funny to be back to normal again...
But all was so much worth it and I keep in souvenir this special opportunity I had the chance to share ..

New Job
Long time , no news ...!
Have been very busy last month, a lot of things changed for me .
I am not working for the Blue Water Diving Center anymore.
My new job is more in the north at Cap Divers !
A real new experience for me, taking care of a diving center, new dive sites and a new crew.
Next to that there is still a lot to prepare for the CMAS International Competition of Underwater Photography in May...
Keeps me busy .........

My friend Mr Murray
Hugues, Estée and Mr Murray ....
Ones upon a time there was such a gentle Murray .... This Murray was a very special one because he could not stop to cuddle up every time a diver crossed his way . He loved it that much, it was almost impossible to let him stop.
Thank you Mr Murray to be so generous, you give a lot of good souvenirs to many divers !

Raining cats and dogs
Today has been a rainy rainy day .... but I've been DIVING !
Wow, that felt good .... I was excited and stressed as a beginner, but that disappeared as soon I went down in the Big Blue . The coral has been damaged a lot because of Gamede, which is really sad to see and the visibility is only 10 meters actually. The wreck " Stella Maru " I went to this morning is a real disaster, I was really shocked .
Yesterday I had my publicity shot which was great fun . I will put some pictures taken through the day later on ...
Cheers !

Népli koné ki pou faire ...( not knowing what to do ... )
...... still not diving !!!
Gosh, another day where I have lots and lots of things to do , but the only wish I have is putting on my diving suit and jump in the water !!
This morning I tried to have a long sleep-in but as it is really hot over here that was impossible ..
So after turning around in my house , I decided to take the overloaded bus to go to Grand Baie with Candice. Walking down in Grand Baie, we stopped several times to buy either a drink either an ice cream ... not really knowing how to cool down.
The lagoon is really desolating , all dirty and the colour of the water is light brown, ... so that was not an option either . If I could wish any weather it would be SNOW cold cold snow all over, but I guess that will not happen in a long time ...

Another day without diving !
The sixth day without diving, Gamede got the sea really rough ....
Our boat is still in Port Louis harbor, waiting to come back home .
I tried to be useful today cleaning up the car of our center and being the chauffeur for some small courses !
We have to be patient for another one or two days - at least I 'll try -

Welcome
28 February 2007
Welcome to my Blog.
This is all new for me , so please forgive me if there is any struggle !
My Blog is created to bring some news from this little paradise island to you ... It has been 6 months now since I arrived in Mauritius, I kind of feel a little more local then I did when I arrived .
I try to improve the local creole , which I understand quiet well , but anytime I want to say something in creole it makes people smile or even my colleagues have a big laugh !! So I stick to some French or English !! ( which is not perfect , but better then creole )
I'm working for the Blue Water Diving Center in Trou aux Biches - the Nord- as a CMAS ** instructor .I really like my work , the dives over here are amazing and I meet a lot of passionate divers from all over the world! About two weeks ago I even got the chance to participate to the " CMAS National Championship of Underwater Photography " with my favorite photographer and good friend Gérald Rambert. Gérald even got his blog if you are curious enough ( http://blog.geraldrambert.com/ ) Well , we made it to the first place and are going to participate at the International Championship in May , which will be in Mauritius !
Cross all your fingers , toes and all you can cross to wish us luck ... Four days ago we had a cyclone alert , Gamede ( the cyclone ) has been very close to our cost, giving us lots of rain, wind and cut down the electricity . But also good times with friends playing cards and dinner at candle light. Thanks again Nina and Jocky for spending such a good time together ! We even went out to the seaside to face the cyclone and look at the huge waves ...
